Take Action!
Dear Friend
I’ve been immersed in a 5-week workshop that wrapped up on Friday. Every day, we’ve had a live presentation from 6 and 7-figure business owners learning about content creation and social media presence.
The number one piece of advice is to take action.
Do it now; start a newsletter and post often.
You may have been putting something off for years; we all do. Complete that bathroom remodel you’ve been talking about. But take action, plan for it, dream about it, but just do it.
I’ve been hobby writing since 2015. I published on WordPress, then went to Medium in 2020. I write on LinkedIn, Twitter and, of course, Substack.
My writing sucked, but I kept writing.
I drew garbage as a kid.
At 11 or 12, I just drew.
I had a bouquet of markers and pencils and experimented with colors.
I just drew.
I didn’t care what anyone thought;
I just drew.
My new uncle gave me the first insight that my designs weren’t garbage.
He didn’t speak English, and I didn’t speak much German.
Design speaks to all.
I was sitting on the floor of their beautiful apartment, and he walked over to see what I was drawing.
He nodded and said, “Sehr Gut.” (very good)
As a teenager, I bought into the lie that you can’t make money as a writer or an artist
I abandoned it.
My mother was disappointed at my decision.
After her death, writing became very important to me, and I dabbled with design.
When we think our work is still child’s play or garbage.
You get a DM, and someone comments that your latest designs have been really good lately.
Once you’ve decided you’re going to do the work, you have to decide how you’re going to achieve it. What motivates you to do the work and not give up?
I’d love to hear from you, leave a comment below and let’s talk about it.
Peace
Patricia
